Decision Support Systems for Oncology
The DESIREE project Consortium is excited to announce the organization of its 2018 Workshop titled “Decision Support Systems for Oncology”, as part of the prestigious IEEE International Conference on e-Health Networking, Application & Services, 17-20 September 2018, Ostrava, Czech Republic.
Scope
IEEE Healthcom 2018 aims at bringing together interested parties from around the world working in the healthcare field to exchange ideas, discuss innovative and emerging solutions, and develop collaborations. Topics include but are not limited to:
- Medical, Biomedical and Health Informatics
- Devices
- Communications and Networking
- Signal/Data processing and Systems
- Services and Applications
- System Research
- E-Health solutions to challenging problems
- Medical Doctors section
The organization of the “Decision Support Systems for Oncology” workshop comes in the last phase of DESIREE project, where its innovative concept, technologies and platforms have reached a maturity level and tangible demonstrative results. The IEEE Healthcom 2018 Conference provides an ideal framework for reaching out to the scientific and technological community as well as the industry, with the objective to exchange on decision support systems readiness, complexities, technologies etc.
Call for Papers
Clinical Decision Support Systems (CDSS) are meant to support clinicians in their decision-making process. Therefore, often, medical evidence by means of clinical guidelines is the foundation of these systems. However, clinical guidelines are often limited, do not support all cases, they are outdated or they may differ from the daily practice of a specific clinical setting. This way, clinical decision support systems could also make use of knowledge generated over time, patient similarity reasoning tools, intuitive and interactive image tools etc.
Topics
Prospective authors are cordially invited to submit their original contributions covering completed or ongoing work related to the eHealth area, especially in oncology applications. The topics include but are not limited to:
- Image processing in oncology
- Computer vision in Healthcare
- Interoperability in Electronic Health Records (EHR)
- Evidence based medicine
- Clinical Decision Support Systems
- Patient Mobile Decision Support System
- Patient Reported Outcomes in Oncology
- Security challenges in eHealth Systems
- Predictive Models in Oncology
- Personalized Medicine in Oncology
