Arivis AG is a software company, specialized in software systems for acquisition, manage-ment, manipulation and analysis of large, heterogenous and multidimensional scientific data. The German SME was founded as a spin-off of the Fraunhofer-Institute for Computer Graphics, Rostock in 2004. In 2011 arivis was integrated into “ELISOGroup”, an alliance of software and service SMEs acting in life science data management. These companies merged to arivis AG in 2013.
The arivis business unit “arivis Vision” is focused in software tools for working with very large, high dimensional images. Our desktop solution “arivis Vision4D” is used by scientists all over the world working with large images as in Connectomics, developmental biology and other fields. Our new approaches are basing on the main concept of distributed data storage and handling. Using our distributed platform “arivis WebView” we research new approaches in collaborative data access and distributed workflows and analysis. The arivis staff contains scientists and technicians of different professions - computer scientists, engineers, and mathematicians. Through its other business units we can access a huge variety of skills and specialists - from computer scientists to validation and certification consultants
